The Intelligent Wireless Communication (i-WiC) Laboratory is a research group in the Institute of Communications Engineering at National Sun Yat-sen University (NSYSU), Kaohsiung, Taiwan.
Intelligent Wireless Communication (i-WiC) Laboratory was established in 2021 as a research group within the Institute of Communications Engineering at National Sun Yat-sen University (NSYSU), Kaohsiung, Taiwan.
The i-WiC Laboratory focuses on research and development in advanced and future wireless communication technologies, particularly beyond 5G and 6G wireless communications. The laboratory aims to contribute to both academic research and industrial innovation by addressing emerging challenges and developing intelligent, efficient, and reliable communication solutions for next-generation wireless networks.
The rapid advancement of wireless technologies has created an increasing demand for seamless, ubiquitous, and high-performance connectivity. Beyond 5G and 6G networks are expected to support diverse and demanding applications while meeting requirements for high data rates, low latency, massive connectivity, reliability, and intelligent network management. These emerging communication systems introduce new challenges across different research areas. Therefore, the i-WiC Laboratory investigates various aspects of next-generation wireless communications to address these challenges and explore innovative solutions.
The laboratory's research team currently comprises master's students, PhD scholars, postdoctoral researchers, and interns, working on a diverse range of research topics, including Beyond 5G/6G communications, next-generation multiple access, UAV-assisted wireless communications, RIS-assisted V2V and V2I communications, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) for wireless communications.
